None of our programs can be successful without active volunteers – there is just too much work for us to do it alone. In particular, we need volunteers to help with the preparation and serving our lunch Monday through Saturday, and dinner Monday through Thursday. You can also get involved in other ways. One way to make a big impact is to participate in our Community Action Program which seeks to get all of society involved in the fight to end hunger and poverty. You can attend community meetings at Neighbors Together to learn more about the issues, meet with government officials to discuss ways to improve the lives of low-income people, or write letters or emails or make phone calls in support of initiatives which address the root causes of poverty and hunger. At Neighbors Together giving is a two-way street. Our volunteers consistently tell us that they gain as much as they give when they participate in our dynamic atmosphere. Please call Ed Fowler at 718-498-7256 or email him at edfowler@NeighborsTogether.org to talk about your particular interests and abilities.
