Neighbors Together is committed to ending hunger and poverty in the Ocean Hill/Brownsville/Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, one of the lowest income communities in the United States.

In a city and country as prosperous as ours, there is no reason this goal cannot be achieved.

Our mission is deeply grounded in our belief in the dignity and potential of each person. We believe that with basic support and encouragement people can stabilize their lives and work together to improve their community.

Three hundred people come to us for help each day because of hunger, homelessness, unemployment, or drug and alcohol addictions. Their needs are many but their resources are almost nonexistent.

Neighbors Together serves as the triage agency for people in emergency situations: our accessibility to our isolated neighbors makes us the one place people can turn to meet their immediate need for food and to get information and referrals to other vital social services.

Neighbors Together is a proud participant of the Better Business Bureau Charity Seal Program, which indicates that our organization has met the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability. For more information about the Standards, please visit the BBB of Metro New York’s website at www.newyork.bbb.org
